Cookie policy
This policy explains which cookies and storage technologies this website uses, what they are for, and how you can manage or withdraw your consent. The version in force is the one published on this page.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that the browser stores when you visit a website. They let the site remember your preferences and other technical data needed to work. This site also uses localStorage to store some preferences on your device; that mechanism is mentioned where applicable in the sections below.
2. How we use cookies
We only use two categories of cookies:
- Necessary and functional: essential for the website to work properly (language, currency, your privacy choice, and the anti-spam protection of the form). They cannot be disabled.
- Analytics: measure in aggregate how the website is used. They only activate if you give your explicit consent (opt-in). We do not use marketing cookies or personalized advertising.
3. Necessary and functional cookies
These cookies are essential for the core functions of the website:
appgast_locale — stores your chosen language (es, pt or en). Lifetime of 1 year. The same value is also mirrored in localStorage.
appgast_currency — stores your chosen currency (ARS or USD). Lifetime of 1 year. The same value is also mirrored in localStorage.
appgast_consent — stores your privacy decision (name of the tool, accepted categories, and date of the decision). Lifetime of 180 days; when it expires, you are asked again. It also blocks measurement tools when there is no consent.
_GRECAPTCHA — a security cookie managed by Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise, used to validate the Contact form and prevent automated submissions. It is not used for marketing purposes.
4. Analytics cookies (opt-in) — Google Analytics 4
When you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics 4 may store measurement cookies such as _ga and _ga_<property ID>.
These cookies help us understand in aggregate how the website is used: pages visited, traffic source, and approximate visit characteristics. No user identifiers or personally identifiable information is sent.
Consent is applied strictly: without your acceptance, the Google Analytics code is not loaded, these cookies are not set, and no browsing data is sent. If you decline, any previously stored “_ga” cookie is also removed.
The lifetime of these cookies and their associated data is the one Google Analytics sets in its standard configuration. You can disable them at any time from the cookie preferences.
5. Managing consent
On your first visit, a discreet notice offers three options: accept analytics cookies, decline them (keeping only the necessary ones), or configure them.
From the preferences panel you can turn analytics cookies on or off at any time and save your choice. You can also withdraw a previously granted consent or accept again, without reloading the page.
Consent is stored in a cookie (appgast_consent) for 180 days. If you delete that cookie or if the version of this policy is updated, you will be asked again.
You can also block or delete cookies from your browser settings. Note that blocking the necessary cookies may prevent the website from working correctly.
6. Third-party cookies
The following tools may store cookies set on their own domains, subject to their privacy policies:
- Google (reCAPTCHA Enterprise and Google Analytics 4) — see its privacy policy and terms at privacy.google.com / policies.google.com.
- countries.dev — geolocation service that determines the country from the IP on the server. It does not set cookies in your browser, and AppGast does not store the IP.
7. Updates and contact
We may update this policy when the technologies in use or the applicable regulations change. Changes will be published on this page with the last-updated date.
For more information about how personal data is processed, see the Privacy policy. If you have questions, write to us at info@appgast.com.
